in the park, I think it was the 4th of July. A little Chicago to get our day started.
Thanks be to God Ellie got extibated late last night. We sat at the bedside zoning out and waiting and it never happened. But the wonderful doctor doing rounds (his name is Gatlin, he introduces himself by saying "like Gatlinburg" - near where Jeff grew up) said she looked good so they were confident it would come out.
This morning we snuck in for 2 minutes (when you bear milk you can do that) and she looks wonderful. Resting peacefully with minimal assistance. So, we're waiting now for morning rounds to say we can come in and talk about her POC and POD. That's plan of care and plan of the day.
We ate a very nice meal last night at the Ronald McDonald house at 7:30 while watching Jeopardy. Anyone out there with young kids can attest to how rare (never?) that experience can be. Thanks Ellie girl :).
