In March of 2011, we put our first home up for sale. Our house hunting had become a hobby, but ultimately we had our eye on one neighborhood in town.
The night before Julia's 2nd birthday, our realtor called with a house in that subdivision and wanted to show it to us Saturday morning. Since Julia's party was not until later that afternoon, we all loaded up and drove to the house. We went in through the front door and the kids all took off their shoes. Julia immediately slipped on the hardwood floor in the den. The boys loved the yard and gave some names to some statues outside. We lost a child or two while walking through the bedroom area. I wore a yellow shirt that covered my 2-month little "Ellie belly" :). Ironically, that shirt was the only clean choice I had this morning, a year later. I came home and fell onto the couch, quesy with morning sickness. I wrote on the calendar for that day "saw an amazing house, can't stop my mind from seeing our family in it." Our family then all came over later and we officially announced Ellie's existence. We never even thought to mention the house since it seemed so far from reality.
Alot of things back then would seem far from reality. But here we are. Life is full of mystery and surprise and ultimately goodness, no matter what!
What a year!
