This afternoon our cardiologist who also specializes in pulmonary hypertension (yeah we like him) mentioned he was giving a talk to Atlanta cardiologists Saturday on babies just like Ellie. I half jokingly said I'd love to go and he said he was about to do a dry-run of it in 5 minutes in front of some colleagues. I started wagging my tail (see below post) and asked to go and he said of course! He then warned me the talk included mortaility rates and I gave him my "ain't nothing new to me, doc" look.
It was fantastic!
He was all - pulmonary pressures, cardiac repair, congenital heart disease, genetics, statistics, drug names, blind study, pharmocokinetics, shunts, arteries, veins.
And in my head I was all - yeah, that's why Ellie can't have her heart surgery yet until her lungs can properly move blood to the rest of her body because now the hole in her heart is being used as a "pop off" valve.
Then I left the room. And I forgot it all.
